The Dual Speed Smart Card Reader/Writer Interface (AKA Phoenix \ Smart Mouse) allows you to communicate with ISO7816 Asynchronous Smart Cards. This will allow you to develop things like Card Memberships or Door access equipment. It will also allow you to alter existing Smart Cards used for various other systems. For example our forums carry a lot of software for the US DSS/Dish Systems.

You can select between 2 speeds for different card/software combinations. You can switch between Phoenix or Smart Mouse modes. Most software around uses Phoenix Mode but some applications require Smart Mouse mode.

• Different frequencies available. 3.58MHz, 3.6864MHz, 4.0MHz, 6.0MHz, or 8.0MHz. PLEASE SPECIFY THE 2 FREQUENCIES YOU REQUIRE IN THE COMMENTS SECTION AT CHECKOUT.
• Can be used as an interface for card sharing.
• Can be used as Phoenix or Smart Mouse.
• Will work with most ISO 7816 asynchronous smart cards (with the appropriate software) including Rom 102, Rom103 and chip interfaces
• High quality solder flowed and solder resist lacquered PCB.
• Professionally assembled.
• Connects to the serial port of your PC for more reliability.
• You can use software available on the net to alter "Genuine" Smart cards for your needs.
• You can use your own software to develop your own card based security systems like door access or membership cards.
• Very easy to use making it very friendly.
• Requires a power supply capable of supplying between 12 - 30 volts DC 200ma Centre Pin Positive. A simple 12v DC Mains Adapter/Transformer will do.
• Requires a standard straight through 9 Pin male to male serial lead

This Interface is available as a fully built and tested unit, A kit of all the parts to build your own or as a Printed Circuit Board (PCB)

The Kit and PCB require soldering knowledge and equipment.

This interface is not supplied with any software. You must write your own or obtain your own from other sources. You can find software for different systems on our discussion forums.
