Program your own Bios into the Gamecube

Viper is the worlds first commercial development modchip for the Nintendo gamecube, it was designed on an FPGA and PCB board which needs to be soldered to the game cube motherboard to replace the internal IPL (bios), and allow developers to test code, run applications and speed up long dev cycles. The chip comes blank but comes with a programmer and as the chip has onboard flash memory it is possible to flash using the external programmer or though the Gamecube itself.

Since then 3rd party cobra bios was released, these bioses were feature packed which allowed users to do a number of things like test code on DVDR, cheats for games and many more cool features (more on cobra bios later)
